CG GENERALIST REEL

BREAKDOWN

"The Other Side" Thesis

- In this specific scene, I wanted to capture a big color contrast. The blue/purple night air and the bright orange/red of a raging fire.
- Character Modeling was done in Maya, ZBrush & Blender.
- Rigging was done with Advanced Skeleton, and a manual hair rig was added.
- Animation in Maya.
- Stylized smoke and fire FX using EmberGen and embers/particles in After Effects.
- Compositing was done in Nuke.

"Medieval Meeting Room"

- I created a meeting room for another character in my thesis who is a higher up and also on the evil side. I went for a gothic/academia/medieval atmosphere to tell a story. I learned a lot more about geometry and shapes along with architecture which I love.
- Modeled everything except props and knight armor in Maya.
- Textured in Substance Painter except for props and knight armor.

"Valen"

- Valen is a dark elf who has multiple advances and skills when it comes to fighting. He was born on the "dark" side of the world and I tried incorporating that into his clothing: leather, bandages, armor and tattoos in dark colors. I referenced Baldurs Gate outfits and medieval accessories.
- Modeled base in Maya, added details and clothes using ZBrush, and hair in Blender.
- Rigging was done with Advanced Skeleton.
- Textures by Ivy Immediato.

"Neelya"

- Neelya is a light elf born on the "light" side of the world. She is a skilled and intelligent swordswoman and alchemist. She also can harvest magic from nature. In my thesis, she is placed on the dark side of the world which is why her clothing is similar to Valens. She has a bag wrapped around her hip with potions and a necklace made from her birthplace.
- Modeled base in Maya, added details and clothes using ZBrush, and hair in Blender.
- Rigging was done with Advanced Skeleton and I created a rig for her hair to control.
- Textures by Ivy Immediato.

"The Other Side" Thesis

- I taught myself to use EmberGen for my thesis after seeing posts of how to make EmberGen fire more stylized. My inspiration was Arcane's 2D FX and hearing about this made me excited. Figuring out a lot of the settings myself, I played with the RGB and Hue quantization to get that 2D look. I lowered the frames as well in comp and added a glow and flicker. â€‹â€‹

- I was also inspired by Riot's Valorant Game textures and tried to replicate that in my work with just base coloring.
